Matthew W. Compton received a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is a member of the New Jersey Bar and New York Bar, Third Department. He graduated from University College at the University of Maryland at Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany with a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and History.
Mr. Compton has worked on a wide variety of types of cases including criminal defense in state and federal courts, federal civil litigation, personal injury, marital disputes, child custody and support, and municipal court matters. He has also worked as a Legal Assistant for the New Jersey Appleseed Public Interest Law Center where he assisted in drafting proposals on voter verification, and researched election law issues including ballot positioning and campaign finance. Furthermore, Mr. Compton has participated in proposing legal reform in accordance with public interest such as Anti-SLAPP legislation.
